The Fellows year is full of learning, growing, and serving, but it is also a whole lot of fun! Some of the most fun times happen on retreats. Throughout the year, Fellows will go on an opening retreat, Micah 6:8 Retreat, a vocational discernment retreat, women's and men's retreats, a trip to Nashville, a Civil Rights Pilgrimage, and a short-term mission trip. There’s nothing like missing a day of work for a retreat!

Micah 6:8 Retreat

Each fall, The Fellows Initiative (TFI) gathers all the Fellows programs from around the country together for a teaching retreat. The topic of this special event is the intersection and application of justice and mercy. Each Fellows program will explore these ideas together while enjoying the company of the fellows community!

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)

Vocational Discernment Retreat

In the winter, the Memphis Fellows will participate in a Vocational Discernment Retreat. They will have the chance to learn more about their own abilities and gifts, hear from a Christian speaker about work and faith, and enjoy time together!

Nashville Retreat

In the spring, the Tennessee Fellows Programs will gather together in Nashville. They will get to visit the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, take a tour of the Capitol, sit in on a council meeting, and explore the city!

Civil Rights Pilgrimage

To celebrate Black History Month, the Memphis Fellows will join four other Fellows Programs for the Civil Rights Pilgrimage in Alabama. We will hear sobering stories of injustice and encouraging examples of community, which will be beneficial for living and serving faithfully in Memphis, with its own history of brokenness and its own stories of missional justice.

Retreats in memphis

Throughout the program, there will be many retreats that Fellows get to go on with just their own class. These retreats are a great time for the class to spend intentional time together.

  • The Opening Retreat is a time of bonding and getting to know one another for the first time.

  • The Prayer and Silent Retreat is a time of reflecting and spending intentional time with the Lord alongside each other.

  • The Closing Retreat is a time of reflection and thanksgiving over the past year together.

Short-term Mission Trip

In the winter, the Fellows will serve with one of our mission partners who are working to advance the gospel in Europe. This will be an opportunity for the Fellows to catch a vision for how to live missionally in each of their jobs.
